The Diocesan Review

The Diocesan Review is a major attempt to move the life of the Diocese and its congregations from decline to growth

We have now published two new documents which mark the completion of the current stage of the Diocesan Review.  There will now be a  period of discussion which will culminate in a special meeting of the Diocesan Synod on September 20th, 2008

  • The Diocesan Policy and Action Plan gives a comprehensive picture of how we propose to carry forward the mission and ministry of the Diocese.  You can read it online or as a PDF
  • Casting the Net is our proposal for the way in which individual congregations will be encouraged to respond to the new policy.  You can read it online or as a PDF

The Review process began with widespread research and consultation across the Diocese.  The following documents will tell you about the results of that research:

  • Diocesan Review 2006-2007 Summary: online or as PDF
  • Full Text of the Diocesan Review: online or as a PDF

In the second phase of the Review, four Working Groups have been established and given the task of establishing Action Plans under the headings below.  You can read the Briefing Documents for the four Working Groups which have been established by the Implementation Group:

We also involved a large group of clergy and laity in a Sources of Growth Workshop on October 6.  We attempted to identify areas and groups of people among whom we might hope to find opportunities of growth for our church.  You can read the main findings here (PDF).

You will also find some additional Profiles and Sources of Growth Charts derived from the Sources of Growth Workshop.
