Revd Isabel Dowlen writes:
Dear Friends,
As we stand at the threshold of a New Year we give thanks for all that has gone in the past year and ask for God’s Blessing on us, our families and all our interests in this coming year.

Our church with all its strength and stability offers us, as we follow the calendar of the Christian year, new insights into the ‘old, old story’ of God’s love and Blessing brought to us through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.  But, more than that, we are promised companionship as we travel into the new experiences that lie ahead of us.

This is not a new experience in the lives of Christians.  We have records of the wonderful experiences of the Saints of old, who in faith and in God’s strength ministered to their local communities.  One such was St. Fillan, who taught and ministered to the local folk of Pittenweem.

On Dec 8th. we held an Ecumenical service in St. Fillan’s Cave.
We used the stone altar with its carved Cross in each corner and felt the sense of continued blessing in this place that has been dedicated, and rededicated over centuries, to bringing the presence of God into our lives and our communities.  Especially important was the moment when we shared the Grace together.

‘The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all now and forever.’
This Blessing we share with all our readers as we step forward into a New Year.
