A Quiet Day for Scotland
Posted Thursday 15 October 2009
Modern living can make us very unaccustomed to silence and stillness. Often people feel threatened by the thought of silence even for a short time. The Church Life Network of Action of Churches Together in Scotland is promoting a Quiet Day for Scotland which is intended to take place every year the weekend nearest to St Andrew’s Day (30th November). Last year the Quiet Day took many forms and often from an ecumenical basis. The idea is to thank God for our country, for those who work on the land and in the cities, and for our hospitals and schools, for politicians and our local areas. You could find out if one is being held near you, or you could think of running one. invites anyone who is interested in running an event to contact her for help and information.
