A workshop was held in the Meeting Room at St Paul’s, Kinross on Saturday 6 June for the Casting the Net consultation on Children and Young People.
The Diocesan Review identified ‘age profile’ as an area of challenge for our church - as it is for many churches. The aspiration to be ‘Child Friendly’ is one of the Nine Marks of a Healthy Mission-Shaped Church and ‘Children and Young People’ is one of our Policy and Action Groups.
Our Consultation in Kinross was part of the process of shaping a policy for involving children in the life of our congregations - looking at worship and the family life of congregations; at programmes like Godly Play and Messy Church; at the way in which ministry in schools and the wider community can help to build contact between children and the church.
The Consultation involved clergy, lay leaders and young people from many congregations across the diocese. Pictured here are Karen (on the left), who is the Children’s Worker from St Andrews, St Andrews and Veronica Kinahan, the Children and Young People Officer for the Diocese.
