Epiphany Service of Light

Posted Monday 12 January 2009

A special service of Epiphany for the Polish people living in the area was organised by Charmian Paterson in St Anne’s Church, Coupar Angus on Sunday 11 January 2009.

This is the second year that such a service has been arranged and this year there was a good attendance of about 60 people including a number of children.

The service, in English and Polish, was conducted by the Very Revd Kenny Rathband assisted by Chairman Paterson and John Munro. John made a valiant attempt at translating his reading into Polish. All the Bible readings were in Polish and some of the carols.

The Polish side of the service was managed by Helena Ferguson, who sang solo and organised a small choir of Polish children to make their own delightful contribution.

Once again it was a happy occasion with the opportunity for fellowship afterwards over tea in the church hall.
