Rev Jeremy Auld interviews Rachel Campbell
Diocesan Synod held a Special Meeting on Saturday, 20 September 2008, to consider the proposed Diocesan Policy and Action Plan.
In his opening address Bishop David reminded members of the process which had produced the Diocesan Review document and continued through the Working Groups which had formulated the current proposals. He also introduced the Casting the Net programme based around the Nine Marks of a Healthy Mission-Shaped Church.
Synod was addressed by the Chairs of the Working Groups: Charges and Groupings; Children and Young People; Ministry. Dr John Ferguson-Smith spoke about issues of Administration.
Canon Alison Peden and Rev Jeremy Auld then conducted a number of interviews:
- Rachel Campbell of Holy Trinity, Stirling, about their Wedding Fair.
- Karen Gaskell of Aberfoyle about websites and communications.
- Madeline Kingston of Forfar about community involvement.
- Alistair Williamson of Bridge of Allan about spirituality and worship.
- Rachel Hart of St Andrew’s, St Andrews, about children and youth work.
After lunch, Synod broke into groups to discuss the proposals - which were then proposed as a motion to Synod by Mr Alan Werrity and seconded by Very Rev Kenny Rathband. The motion was passed by an overwhelming majority.
