Dear Friends,
I want to thank you all for the way in which you encouraged support for the Eucharist in the Cathedral last Sunday. I would be grateful if you would express my appreciation to those from your congregations who came.
I felt that it was the kind of Diocesan Celebration which we needed to have - a chance to be together, to mark another stage in the Casting the Net initiative and to express our life in faith together. I’m very grateful to all who worked so hard in organising it.
And in my own life and ministry .... thank you for your support in prayer and otherwise. The extent to which we have been able to establish ‘strength in depth’ in our diocesan life makes it possible for me to address new responsibilities. There is inevitably a certain amount of juggling going on behind the scenes - synchronised swimming comes to mind - but we are gradually finding ways of holding together all the various aspects of it all.
