Diocesan Website RSS Feeds
News feeds allow you to see when a website has new material available without having to visit it in your browser all the time. The most popular format for these feeds is called RSS (standing for ‘Really Simple Syndication’) which allows your choice of client application to understand lists of changes to a site.

In addition, your browser may display a special icon in the location bar (typical the orange RSS icon or ‘RSS’) and pages might have links to feeds using the orange icon.
RSS Aggregators
Desktop applications that present and maintain RSS feeds for you are called RSS Aggregators. Some common ones include:
- Mozilla Firefox (if you click on an RSS feed and add it to ‘Live Feeds’)
- Apple Safari (click the blue ‘RSS’ in the location bar)
- Newsgator’s NetNewsWire for the Mac
- SharpReader for Windows
- Google Reader (a web-based aggregator)
