Ministry
All who are baptized are called to ministry. This section will help you to explore what this means both in ordained and lay ministries
One of the four Working Groups in our Diocesan Review process is looking at Clergy and Lay roles in ministry. Led by Canon Alison Peden, the group is exploring the way in which clergy and laity share ministry in the life of our congregations. We hope that our training and support of all kinds of lay ministries will be strengthened.
If you are thinking about a calling to ordained ministry, you can find more information here.
We work hard to develop the quality of the ministry of our clergy. The Diocesan Clergy Conference provides opportunities both for training and for the development of friendships and contact.
A regular of programme of Clergy Meetings during the year encourages clergy who have special interests or who have developed a particular expertise to share it with colleagues. Our pattern of Ministerial Review and the optional pattern of Clergy Appraisal [Peer-assisted Self-Appraisal] provide a framework of accountability which motivates, encourages and stimulates professional development.
