Ordained Ministry
This page will tell you about how vocation to ordained ministry is fostered, explored and tested.
Valerie Walker, a member of St Ninian's Cathedral, congregation, has recently begun training for stipendiary ministry
The process of exploring vocation begins with a conversation with your local Rector. He or she will then send you to one of our two Diocesan Directors of Ordinands, Canon Jonathan Mason and Canon Janice Cameron. From there, the process leads to the Provincial Director of Ordinands, Very Rev Kevin Pearson, and the SEC's Provincial Panel. Candidates are finally sent to the equivalent panel in the Church of England.

Training for ministry in the Scottish Episcopal Church is in the hands of TISEC [Theological Institute of the Scottish Episcopal Church] and much of the responsibility for training is devolved to the dioceses.
